Daily Grind

Today I cut a spent the day in my boiler suit again. I cut a piece of metal the right size to fit on the hull up by the window which will form the top surface of the wall and enable us to insulate all the way up to the skylight. After the rather dispiriting struggle with a new metal porthole surround that I'd had earlier in the day, it was great to be producing some satisfactory welds. Not perfect ones, but my hit rate was much higher than it has ever been, so I must be leanring!

Here I am, grinding off the last millimeter so that it will fit between the two U girders.

And after I welded it in place, and then ground off the excess weld so that the window will sit flat.

And all painted up!
